Darkstar Rocket Engine Test Stand

Working with the “Whistler-Blackcomb” sub-team of UBC Rocket, I helped develop the above test stand as part of our entry in the Base 11 Space Competition. As I joined the sub-team well into the manufacturing stage, I have had the opportunity to work on a myriad of different components and sub-systems on the stand including structural FEA, wiring and other electrical work, and building valve mounts and panels. Furthermore, I was responsible for overhauling the engine in preparation for the hotfire, including designing and implementing combustion chamber modifications to improve sealing, and sourcing and fabricating engine gaskets. I was responsible for packing and preparations for the hotfire test and ensured the team had the tools and equipment they needed to succeed.
